A Golden Moon

Darling, I have to go to war, But I’ll be back real soon. So before I go away, Stand under a golden moon. Promise you will wait for me As I will wait for you. Think of me each time you see That beautiful golden moon. But fate had another way Tonight, there is no moon. Here I am a dying man So I’ll be home real soon. Now I’m coming home to you Where we can be alone. Lay some flowers on my grave Under the golden moon. One day you will join me I pray it can be soon. When once again we’ll be as one Under that golden moon.

Much respect for those who serve! To me this poem is sad, yet realistic. It happens and has happened too many times. Have a blessed day, Robert
