A Glimpse Through the Hole In Me

I glimpsed the world
Through a hole in me
And what I saw
I didn’t want to see
I faltered
And tumbled
Tripped
Then stumbled
And the world
It rolled right over
Me

I glimpsed love
Through a hole in my heart
And what I saw
Gave me a start
Passion
And pain
When it was gone
A stain
And love
It ripped me
Apart

And through a crack in the earth
That sucked me down
I glimpsed myself disappear
Without any sound
And through the crack in my heart
My blood poured out
And I followed it down
Without any doubt
And when I woke up it was all still there
Right in this face that im destined to wear

I glimpse the world
On a movie screen
But it flickered and faded
With the end unseen
And in the static
I saw myself
Sitting dusty
On a shelf
And behind
The screen was
green

I glimpsed love
As it poured down my face
As I desperately tried
To shove it back in place
Hammer and nail
Needle and thread
As I tried to mend
All that had bled
But my heart evaporated
Without a
trace

And through a crack in the earth
That sucked me down
I glimpsed myself disappear
Without any sound
And through the crack in my heart
My blood poured out
And I followed it down
Without any doubt
And when I woke up it was all still there
Right in this face that im destined to wear
