Notes About The Poem

A Glancing Blow

Life sometimes balls up its fists
And swings, and I take the hits
Standing; it's only a glancing blow
Life sometimes balls up its fists
I don't parry the punches thrown
This chin of mine is made of stone
Life sometimes balls up its fists
And swings, and I take the hits
