A Girl Who Never Had a Sleepover
She has been to the opera, she has been exposed to culture.
She has seen an orchestra and a few poetry readings.
Her parents were careful to let her see what they wanted her to see.
They were also careful to keep her sheltered away from realities of life.
She had no idea there were angry, mean, vindictive, horrible people.
When she reached puberty, she stopped wanting to go to the opera.
She was tired of culture, irritated that she had never had a sleepover.
She did not have a best friend, so she began to seek one.
She found one online while her parents were being exposed to culture.
They thought she was okay, by herself.
How much trouble could she get into?
She lived in a gated community. They had locks on their doors.
She began a relationship with her best friend online.
She told him her innermost secrets.
They arranged to meet after school on a Thursday.
She was never seen again.
A girl who had never had a sleep over.
