A Girl and Her Knife

Deeply she cuts
On her sides
Releasing her pain
In red form.
The knife
her release
of pain
too deep
Day by day
no one sees
this pain
she carries
so very deep.
Lovely smile with frowning eyes
of the lies shes told.
At home its hell
Her dad
loves the drink
And doesn’t think
of the pain he inflicts
with each sip he takes
upon his little girl
Her mother gone
And sadly missed.
Alone is she
with nothing but her knife
To release her pain
Deep inside!

My intention was to convey pain she was feeling from loneliness and not being appreciated. Not from physical or verbal trauma. I have friends who do this because they feel utterly alone and invisible. I embellished their story a bit but I think I conveyed the emotional trauma they feel that makes them do this to themselves.. hopefully. I'm sorry if I caused anyone pain.

Too many out there and the bastards who caused the problem walk away scot free from as liberal judicial system. I've worked with about 150 cutters, all beautiful kids, all abused by the animals supposed to be taking care of them. God Bless. Vince
