A Gift of Love
Great beauty can be seen
Always from within
I tell you this…
As I searched
For all things
Deep in my heart
For all meanings
I felt its’ warmth within
Like the sun
Playing in a field of buttercups
Tingling on my skin
I looked above
Seeing a castle amongst the trees
How rich the grass
That I played in
How soft the breeze
This is the gift of love
Every living thing
Could feel love
You could not hide
Its’ colour
Its’ meaning
I touched a tree
Looked upwards amongst its’ mighty boughs
To the sky
It reached forever
Lifting me
Such beauty that I saw
In its’ heart
That I felt in me
This is the gift of love
Billowing clouds rushed by
The trees swayed
My heart changed forever
In the rich grass that I played
In the sky
Where I flew
That a search must begin
In a heart
In a sun
From within
Great beauty was seen
Not, in the forest
Not, in a field of buttercups
Not, in grass, rich and green
Not, in skies, so blue
In the heart
The heart of you
A gift of love
Always from within
I tell you this
To start your search
To begin
With you
