A Friend Indeed

In these times of trouble
Friends are rare indeed
Not many take the time
To grab a hand and lead.

But you take the time
To listen and to share
You listen then you speak
Because you really care.

And when I'm not too strong
Or when I'm feeling blue
You make your stay with me
And then you come and do.

And when I fall behind
And I cry out in need
You place me first in line
And make all others heed.

And when I am often blinded
And I refuse to be
You show me how I am
And become the light to see.

In the time that I have known you
You have been kind and true
My repayment to you always is living.

"I love you!"
