A Four-Line Apology In Iambic Pentameter

We’re sorry we erased your tally board.
This careless, wee mistake shan’t be ignored
by me, the thoughtless teacher who effaced
this box of precious points, gone in swift haste.

On the first day of Math Challenge class, I accidentally erased a table of tally marks from the Harry Potter class, thinking it was from last week. As I predicted, the table was redrawn the next day with a notice that said “PM CLASS: PLEASE DON’T ERASE!” To appease the other class, I wrote "A Four-Line Apology in Iambic Pentameter".
