A Fools Downfall

A Fools Downfall. . Expectations are often the fools downfall As nothing is guaranteed in life We dream of tasty cheesecake But end up with the crumbs And don’t always get a slice . The happiest people that I have known Are the poorest Who have little or no expectation at all They don’t make the most of what they have And smile a lot Because they know the secret of true happiness Gratitude And that makes them glad . I was a fool with high expectations That never came to pass I was in a race for love And finished last. . Peter Dome©2020.
