A Few Words-Book 9

~A Few Words~

Let’s jump in mental streams and take a drink
Then turn off the radio and TV so you can think
Free your mind allowing your thoughts to wander
While I write just a few words for you to ponder

What if neighborhoods and houses we live in today
Or the schools and parks where your children play
All shopping malls and stores where you like to go
Disappeared along with everything else you know

What if every time loved ones leave your place
It could be the last time you will ever see their face
What if you didn’t have a job at a local company
Because there are no businesses in your community

I don’t mean to be harsh so will you please forgive
But these events might happen with the way we live
Destroying the land, water and air we take for granted
Cutting down so many trees Mother Nature planted

History describes stories that aren’t simply fables
So what if countries we’ve invaded turn the tables
Remember when Rome held all the wealth and power
That dissolved very quickly in their last and final hour

Because life is very fragile and so easily it bends
And it can be reduced so quickly to dust in the winds
Remember we are the children and earth is the mother
So will we ever understand no man’s better than another

Will We Ever Understand? :-)
