A Father's Good Morning

Today I took my son to school
And knelt into his joy
There's something 'bout being Dad that's cool
Steeped in my little boy.

I can't describe the feeling, though I'll try
It's bliss without ignorance
It's being grounded while I fly
It's comfortable jeans that're dress pants.

As the sun woke the world
The cars bustle and work starts
Mostly I don't get these moments
When my boy and I are heart to heart.
