A Face I Don't Know
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
The world feels so empty,
And I’m fading too.
The stars seem to whisper,
But I can't hear the sound,
I'm lost in the silence,
Where no light is found.
The nights stretch forever,
The days are all gray,
I’m stuck in a moment,
That won’t go away.
The mirror reflects
A face I don’t know,
A soul filled with sorrow,
A heart moving slow.
I reach for the pieces
That crumble to dust,
Our love full of promise,
Now broken and rust.
The roses are wilting,
The violets are too,
But nothing feels colder
Than the loss of you.
I try to keep breathing,
But the air’s growing thin,
My mind's full of voices,
I can’t silence them in.
I reach for the warmth,
But the cold holds me tight,
I'm chasing a shadow,
That hides from the light.
