A Dying Love Affair
Listen to poem:
No matter my endeavors she returns every year
Whether she totally does understand my despair
To this yearly seasonal unrequited sad love affair
As to her yellow flower beauty, don't have a care
Digging up foundations ripping away at her roots
A pouring of strong weed killer we are in cahoots
Her now lifeless body lies besides me as so felled
The satisfaction to her death inside me is quelled
But, such is her love for me; she will soon return
She's not one to give up; she will not be spurned
And come next year, she will give it one more try
Pleading with me I love you don't let our love die
Her heart broken, as yet again, I hear not her cry
As yet again her lifeless body; does beside me lie
Maybe next year I should just let her up and grow
And for her my dandelion, in return my love show
"She's persistent, I will give her that " . . . : /
