A Dream Recalled
In my bed, memory took fancied flight,
When I met with dear friends the other night.
Some Loved ones and Folks I’d known so well,
Stopped by to visit. Numbers more than I could tell!
Some of those seen, had long been away,
While others, were met only yesterday.
But all were welcome; they made me glad,
Though now I’ve wakened, I’m left feeling sad.
For they were Folks, of whom I’d been very fond.
Long since left for a place which lies far beyond.
All without exception, have become a vital part
Of precious moments, kept stored within my heart.
Though dreams seldom make sense - for it is their way,
It’s when thinking on them, in the cold light of day,
That I recall another time and another place,
Bringing a brief seen smile to lighten my face!
As I grow older, dreams bring their own reward,
While their very substance no longer seems untoward.
When comes that fateful day - as such that Fate will deem,
Perhaps I too, will play my part in someone’s dream?
