A Door Was Opened
I lay there in the darkness,
my life had ebbed away!
I thought the gates of Hell
would soon be on display.
I said that I deserved it,
as the mist rolled over me:
with expectations limited,
I fell down on my knees.
Then a door was opened
and darkness turned to light;
I had a glimpse of Paradise
much to my delight.
This place was heavenly beauty,
peaceful and serene:
In all my worldly travels
such sights I'd never seen!
I heard a quiet murmuring,
"I've chosen you with all your faults,
go back and say what you have seen
and this time don't default."
