A Dog of Mine

A dog of mine Once I had a dog a rescue one the first week she was shy and scared of the outside After that, she was prancing about like she owned the house tyrannizing other dogs on the road. She had her bed in the hall but didn’t like that when she was sure I was asleep, she jumped up on the sofa If I got up at night, she hurried back to her blanket pretending to be asleep, but her ears betrayed her. One day I noticed a daft from the kitchen door, not a good a place for a dog. I moved her blanket, a thick woolly one, to the sofa She looked surprised like she had not been there before. For the next thirteen happy years, the sofa was her bed.
