A Deterrent
Don't cut your wrists
Don't cut your thighs
Pick yourself up
And dry your eyes
Unlock the door
Step into the hall
Look in the mirror
You're beautiful
Your scars don't define you
Nor does anyone else
They don't understand
You're going through hell
So please be patient
And don't let me down
I won't judge if you do
You won't be met with a frown
I'll try to understand
But it might be hard
You'll always be special
I hold you close to my heart
And living without you
I can't bear the thought
So please don't leave me
I'll be distraught
You're very special
And beautiful, you see
Don't listen to them
Just focus on me
I don't care what they say
I don't care what they do
Because I'm always here
And I really do love you
