A Den of Eden
In a perfect world
There’d be no war
No famine, no poor
The ocean floor would be clean
No one would even be mean
No one would steal your best friend
She would stay loyal and true to the end
No one would just die for a meal
No one would ever lie for a feel
There’d be no need for any garden
For everyone everywhere
Would be without sin
Meanwhile,
I will just have to try to blend in
Sketching my poetry along long sandy beachlines
Only to be erased
Soon by the tide
Only then, only then
Will I transcend
From this den
That I’m in
