A DECEIVER SCHEMER

As a dreamer, I never once dwelled on schemers,
so, as a believer, I fell for him, a deceiver.
I was never an anger screamer and tear streamer
until romantic panic lay me down as griever.
I believed his story, his strengths and regrets
which had me set to gently drift into his net
where hidden, as yet, were his sharp-hearted threats.
He spoke of love most profuse when he played to seduce.
I revealed all my truths, he used them for abuse
while running hot then cold to steer me towards confused.
Oh, he was charm, lushness and warmth, a manly steamer.
Then he was harm, harshness and cold, a heartless quiver.
Playing the fool to his cruel, is my self-debt,
one my brain did not deduce, nor heart now excuse.

Awesome write from you, sweetie!! Definitely this sounds like a page from your past. I have yet to do this contest of Broken Heart's. Oh to have time for all the things I wish to do!!! (like to talk with you this weekend. Is that still on the table?)

Hi Cay Cay, this is betrayal indeed, an excellent piece on the subject. this reads like a winner to me. I can't understand the games played when hearts are on the line. I love your descriptive imagery. I get caught up in the emotions, feeling the sadness within the piece. I loved the emotional content. Have a wonderful end to your Sunday. Hugs....Mike. XX

You have expressed this perfectly. There are so many- women as well as men, that act this way. Not very nice at all. Blessings to you my friend. May you always be surrounded by love, and not moments like you have written here. ~ Brandy

Oh CayCay, this poem is perfect for the contest. "Oh, he was charm, lushness and warmth, a manly steamer." Loved that line so much. Your entire poem conveys perfectly the schemer and how it feels to be abused by one. Are you sure you have never met my first husband? Lol. I hope to see this creative piece at the top! : ) xxoo

Such a sad and heartbreaking tale. A wolf in sheep's clothing it sounds like to me. Loved your poem and hoping it is fictional. Nicely done my friend.

So many are good at deception, devils in sheep's clothing, they suck you in and for many it's too late. Well written CayCay. Good luck. Tom.
