A Dead Marriage
She's found out the worst of news,
So bad it's changed her life forever.
No more family Christmases,
Or dinners that bring us all together.
Because that's all done and over with,
Her heart feels like it's breaking.
It's definitely broken,
She can feel the missing pieces,
And the holes in her heart,
Are just getting bigger.
She doesn't know what to do,
What can she do?
She knows it's not her fault,
But it still tears her apart inside at the seams.
Her threads are gone,
Leaving her bare and joyless.
The light seems gone from her eyes,
Even though she laughs at jokes and things.
She's so confused at how it got this way,
She feels her life changing every day,
And just when she starts to get it all back together,
The rain clouds come down and douse her again.
She says she'll be okay,
But anyone who really knows her,
Knows she's just holding it together to be strong,
In front of the many faces that expect the best.
She's strong, but not strong enough...
