Notes About The Poem

4/23/2025 for Rondelet Poetry Contest sponsored by Joseph May

A Day with Dad

A day with Dad -
he got tickets to watch some ball.
A day with Dad -
a great time for this lucky lad,
held captive in his father's thrall.
A better time I can't recall -
a day with Dad.

Touched my heart David. I wish I could have just one more day with Dad. Your poem and sentiment are terrific.

Hi Kim, uhoh, you're rhyming - lol. Almost everything I write in first person is not really about me, but I must say that this one is 100% about me and my dad.
