So glad you decided to come with me. I brought my camera and we'll wonder At the vistas that we would love to see. A lovely, cloudless day with no thunder. I knew exactly where the best shots be. Plodding through virescent hills and hollows, Below so many trees that form a groove Careful where to tread, there were some fallows Splendid shots I took so I'm sure I'll prove For from an oak, flew so many swallows. My camera worked: an eagle soared high, Surveying the artistic span below, A rill twisting its way, blue as the sky Flowers abounded, sweet fragrance they blew, Tired we needed rest, food to fortify. An inn nearby provided us with food, Scrambled eggs, hot sausages, tea, and toast. It had been a wonderful interlude But my love was the happiest the most. We went back home, in good humorous mood. 26 April 2021 io syllables per line Scheme: ababa

Your walk over hills and hollows watching beautiful scenes and clicking those scenes with your camera must have been so exciting! But I enjoyed more the food you ate at the inn. :)

I have never seen the ababa rhyme scheme. I really enjoyed this - especially "Plodding through virescent hills and hollows, Below so many trees that form a groove Careful where to tread, there were some fallows Splendid shots I took so I'm sure I'll prove For from an oak, flew so many swallows." Great poem Victor.

I will not write another poem with that rhyme scheme. It almost took my life away. Thanks for noticing.

Sounds like a wonderful day out capturing nature on your camera, what could be better than having a meal together too, just the thing for lovebirds to do. A lovely write Victor... Belle

Reads like a good contender for the contest. It is good to get out and enjoy nature at its best in the spring of the year when the weather is just right and the colors grand. I enjoyed reading your work. I do like turnip greens just don't like the work that goes with preparing those fresh from the garden but they are good. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

This painted such a happy day I could almost see the photographs you must have captured...you captured the day so well with your words! I felt I could see the footfalls as you and your love stepped along, and the eagle! What a joyful, peace filled poem.
