A Day Vs. a Lifetime

A day in love with my very best friend:
That's all I was given.
Then,
Straight out of Heaven,
God sent me an angel instead.
He sent me a lifetime of love til the end.
Thank you for that day.
Thanks for going away.
Now, I can smile and say,
"Thank you, God, for a day of pain,
And for the love of a lifetime that followed."
