A Day To Remember

I had just given birth to my 5th child Was feeling very tired He came as quite a shock Four was more than I desired He was born 10 years after his brothers and sisters When the family saw him They all adored this little mister I was dying to go to sleep, so I closed my eyes When I had a visit Much to my surprise My elderly friend came puffing in out of breath She looked awful not far from death She was shaking her eyes were red I moved over so she could share my bed I asked her what had happened as she looked so ill Should I ring for a Dr to prescribe her a pill She declined this offer she needed a spell To gather her thoughts together before she could tell Me what had happened when she went shopping in Town To buy the Baby his first nightgown She left work early so she could visit me See the new arrival and share a cup of tea We worked together and got on very well Friends forever and all was swell Until she walked up the busy street to look at the shops That's when it all happened a call from the cops "You old lady get back stand flat against the wall Stand still don't move be careful you don't fall." A tannoy called out to others to take cover where they can A gun shop had been held up and wasn't going to plan Some of the thieves started to use the guns Shooting from their car windows while they were trying to make a run. That night it was on tv and radio as well My friend who went to town for me Had a taste of hell That visit from my friend was an eventful ONE My dear friend might have DIED On the BIRTHDAY of my SON
