A Date With Emily
Listen to poem:
A Date With Emily
David J Walker
I
Your World
Your world on me unleashed
Like violence in a summer storm
Intensity Increased
Yet survived to see the
Summer morn
Your world on me impale
Classes of a certain kind
Amassed but always frail
Fears a forum always find
Your world on me imposed
The child who drank each
wondrous morn
As if it daily rose
To take a graceful
Playful form
II
Renewal
How days composed of
Hours flow like
Rivers to the sea
Are no less those
As gathered there an
Oceans wave decree
Then gathered in the air
As clouds
Driven by the wind
And rain upon the
Earth below
Renewal reborn again
III
Possibilities
Awakened by the nightly dreams
Of possibilities
Or what is real and how it seems
To fade in frailties
In fear of failure
Fear of plight
Fears of fading time
The years will pass
In anxious mass
Of logics paradigm
