well, methinks you have gotten a pretty dang good haiku here, whether it is traditional or not. It might even be more modern than you think!!

yes, i can definitely see the gallops here. not even a beginner on haiku thus i think yours is great! good luck on the contest jack ps. i'm a Shakespeare's fan too ;)
