A Dark Dream
I once had a dream that I had needed you.
You were there with me and helped me through.
At the moment I was so scared and troubled inside;
But you came to me and stayed when I would have died.
I was so angry and wished you weren’t there, at first.
As you grabbed me, I yelled, screamed, cried, and cursed;
But you holding me in your arms slowly calmed me down.
You stayed with me, when no one else was around.
You carried me slowly away from the roof;
Though I really doubted before, now I had proof.
You took me to your room and hugged me there;
Now I know that someone loves me, and does actually care.
I hated you in the moment, but love you for that day.
Without you being there then, I wouldn’t be here today.
Though it was just a dream, it felt so real to me.
I hope it never happens, but if it does, I hope you’ll be.
