A Curse Vowed, Under-Lived

A feeling of shame...
Shame that I'm in a world undeserving
Of my intelligence, my grace and my power.
It burns in my blood, and controls my words,
..My movements.

And it is that very same feeling that allows me
To detach my emotions, and self,
From this dull world.
And recognise that my surroundings merely exist,
Serving no proper purpose.

I ask not for the lend of your power,
To disarm these lonely people.
I ask not for the strength to prove my place,
For I have already done so.
