A Cuppa Tea

A CUPPA TEA

A cuppa tea for my confused cluttered mind,
A cuppa tea to rest and try hard to unwind,
A cuppa tea for our beings to merely cleanse,
A cuppa tea please, I have just been fined!

Tea is universal whatever the flavour,
Thus each cuppa tea has it’s own flavour,
A cuppa tea so welcome after shopping in heels,
Kicking them off in the front hall, a lifesaver!

A cuppa tea is certainly good for fist dates,
Often how people find their soul mates,
Like a starter, gets conversation flowing,
After your cuppa, could find yourself in dire straits!

So whatever the occasion, a cuppa for me,
And for all generations of ladies should be
To watch his eyes, if they follow your curves,
You might need a cuppa to settle your nerves!

Loved this Jennifer. Being a tea drinker myself I find it fits. Never could get used to the bitter taste of coffee which does evil things to my stomach. God Bless, JB

Hello Jennifer … can't argue with this. I have no idea what a cuppa does to the body, but it certainly calms the mind, and that can only be good for stress - thanks once again Jennifer - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay yes it certainly does bring a calmness about whereas coffee is more a social beverage which we drink to stay awake, when go out with friends or when we feel a little stressed. Thanks Lindsay for a great comment, Blessings,Jennifer.

Thank-you Kim - glad you liked it, maybe I should have said a glass of wine is what would settle our nerves, but, then again, was writing about tea! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

I like both equally but as I mentioned in one of my comments below, tea is more soothing and coffee is more a social, you drink it with friends, or when you go out for breakfast, or when you want to stay awake or perhaps when you are stressed. Hope you and you your family ar well and safe. Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.

Hi Panagiota mou, I am way back with my poetry replies , so although Sundays I sleep in longer, got up early today to really catch up. Corona Virus is only now spiking in South Africa, the 2 epicenters being the Cape Province and Johannesburg, so Elias and I will put ourselves in lock down for quite a while longer. Hope you are well and keeping safe my dear friend. Me agape Jennifer. H

I like both equally, however if I am unwell in any way I only drimk tea, but coffee i have found to be a more sociable beverage, almost like having a cigarette, although I don't smoke. Thank-you Harry. Best wishes and hugs, Jennifer.

Hi Vijay, thank you for a wonderful comment - I do look forward to them and enjoy each one. A cuppa is refreshing and relaxing and I am happy dear Vijay. I find our lockdown which is now in phase 3 is great. Hubby and I clean the house tgether, run our business from home,Elias's hobby is cooking (had his own retaurant for 31 years) and of course my hobby is poetry. Then we watch our series till late, and voila, before we know it, its time for bed. Wishing you all the blessings in the world my supportive and good friend. Hugs Jennifer.

Hi Jan, you remind me so much of my cousins in law - although Greek their cuppa tea (but with a Greek cookie) is a must every afternoon, and a chance to catch up on the latest family news. We are OK thanks Jan, our spike is only beginning now after phase 4 and now 3 - Gauteng, which is our Province and Johannesburg has become an epicentre, will just stay house bound and order on line, but it still means disinfecting everything when it arrives. How have all our lives changed so much in 4 months! Keep safe my friend. How is hubby? Hugs, Jennifer.
