A Crack In Life
Many times you left me out to dry dangling from a string.
I can't comprehend why you don't control your urge.
I know every night at midnight you sneak out and splurge.
Before that smokey pipe you were so full of youth.
Now your eyes are grey and bleak, cutting into the cold hard truth.
What's left of you now is hopeless and dim.
Daddy, will you ever find your peace with Him.
It's so baffling when you smoke your crack.
Each time you leave I wonder if your coming back.
