A Cowboy's Love

A Cowboy's Love

He said he loved her - always would,
An' cocked his head just so.
Looked in her eyes, let out a sigh,
Told her he'd never go.

He said her skin was soft an' pale
An' made for one man's touch.
Her hair was silken, golden blonde -
He loved her smell so much

Her lips were red and full and soft,
He told her all those things.
And he had dreamed of kissing her,
Then picking out their rings.

She kind of smiled and gazed at him,
Said, "Stranger, you're a mess!
Must be drivin' that herd of cows,
You're different, I confess

"You'd best get on your socks an' boots
I think it's 'sposed to rain.
Next time you're passin' through this town,
Just ask for me - name's Jane."
