A Cowboy Poem

I was riding on the range And I was feeling pretty good. All the cattle were behaving; They were running like they should. The sun was just a-setting In a blaze of orange and red. And my dog was acting frisky Like a pup that’s been well fed. I had planned to build a campfire, So I chopped myself some wood. Then I cooked my steak and beans And I can tell you they were good. I pulled off my leather boots You know the ones you buy in town. I took out my heavy blanket And prepared to settle down.

Nice rhythm and flow, I can see someone settling next to a camp fire, strumming a guitar and singing this song.
