A Country That Was
(The Present State of Nigeria)
We are the youths
Of a country that was
Whose leaders failed us
Whose government killed us
A country that called us
Leaders of tomorrow
Just to prevent us
From leading today
A country which was
Supposed to protect us
But rather killed us
For fighting for our rights
A country we fought for
A country we hoped for
A country we prayed for
A country that was
