A Closer Walk
I peered just over the edge
And stared straight into the abyss
I asked Him to establish a hedge
Then I heard a whisper and a hiss
My blood ran ice cold
And the world became eerily still
I remembered the words I was told
And I lifted my eyes to the hills
I have the power to trample
On serpents, scorpions, and the enemy
And this power I have is ample
It will give me my requested remedy
These challenges are opportunities
To pick up my cross and walk with You
To deny myself and my lunacy
And learn what I should think and do
