"a Christmas Wish"

Dad said"what do you want santa to bring you Mike".
Under the Christmas tree I want a new bike.
You'll have to work if that's what you'ld like.
So I worked for mom,dad and the lady next door.
Made plenty of money doing all those chores.
I looked through the paper and found the right store.
As I got there I seen a little boy looking and crying.
What's wrong little boy if you don't mind me prying.
He said "through this store window I do all my wishing.
I thought to myself give this little boy all that he wishes for.
Just this little thing I'll get my bike and so much more.
He bought his dad a coffee mug his mom a flower and
his sister a box of smores.
As I walked home I knew giving him his Christmas wish
was the right thing to do.
Now I hope all of your Christmas wishes come true.
                                         Teresa Skyles 02/12/09

Charity is an amazing virtue and it is close to God for us to be so giving as the girl giving to the little boy and denying herself.. "give and it shall be given unto u.. good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over"..He Promises.. u are so blessed with the gift of poetry, Teresa, and u bless all of us that read... thankxxx.. You have captured the magical spirit of giving beautifully in this poem, Teresa. We could all learn a thing or two from little Mike. Well done! Love, Carolyn
