A Christmas Card To Mama

WRITTEN IN 1984 1 YEAR AFTER I LOST MY MOM..

MAY GOD GIVE YOU REST,PEACE ETERNALLY,
FOR YOU WERE A GOD SEND FOR TAMMY,
BILLY AND ME,
I WROTE YOU THIS POEM,ON A TEAR
AND A PRAYER,GOD TAKE IT TO HEAVEN
FOR I KNOW YOU'LL BE THERE...

As I sat here with Christmas almost near,
missing you mama, and the love we held dear
remembering the good times, the worry the cares
remembering you mama, you was always there
your smile you gave freely, your love always kindly
as I went along taking, almost blindly,
I can never really express, what's in my heart
for the love and the laughter, you were apart
now this Christmas will come, as all Christmas's do
but the most happiest, was the ones spent with you
when I close my eyes, I can almost see
you holding hands with daddy, and talking to me
seven little teardrops, I'll shed for you
for the pain and the torture, I'm going thru
seven is the number, that I'll always hold dear
seven days in a week, and fifty two weeks in a year........
