A Chat With the Lord

Thank you Lord for another day in which to celebrate life. May it be free of enmity, stress and perilous strife. Help me to do Your will and accomplish things of worth, And to live my life as if it was my final day on earth. Thanks for the blessin's that upon this sinner You bestow, For Your love and forgiveness, so much to You I owe. I can't thank You enough for precious friends and family, And for livin' in this land, home of the brave and free. Lord, I'm sure You know things ain't goin' too well down here. There's hatred, sorrow and strife all about Your sphere. I reckon folks have strayed from things that You have taught. Help us to heed the Golden Rule and behave as we ought. Each mornin' my very soul is overflowin' with elation, As I gaze in silent awe at the majesty of Your Creation. We've made a terrible mess of it, please forgive us Lord; Help us to be better stewards and abide by Your accord. As You see, I ain't good at prayin', at times I ain't too devout, But I sure do 'preciate You takin' the time to hear me out. Maybe You can see fit for givin' me another day or two, To plea for Your mercy and to chat again with You! Robert L. Hinshaw, CMSgt, USAF, Retired

We certainly have "made a helluva mess of it," haven't we, Robert? Faith requires us to be patient sometimes and we can only hope that those who have strayed from "the Golden Rule" will learn from their mistakes. I like the casual chat with God style in this write. You never fail to deliver! Love, Carolyn
