A Champions Retirement

His retirement the champion announced, After he was in their fight trounced, And like a tennis ball bounced… On him had his challenger pounced, His strength not letting him use an ounce, And forcing him to hit the canvas, not once! Soon, the press, To painfully address, And meekly renounce, All that he did archly pronounce… The cruelest punch finally goes to rest, For being no longer The Best.
