A Catholc Girl’s True Story

A Catholic Girl's True Story

I was only nine, when I was
               denied absolution!
I had eaten meat on on a
               Friday, tsk,tsk.
To burn in hell 'twas the
               Priest's resolution?

               Daddy raged at the Chancery
               Office.
How dismayed he was at all
               this!
I had to go back to the Church,
               the pastor heard my Confession.

               How frightening this was for
               a little girl!
               Who thought she was headed
               for hell!
               I thought obeying my parents
               was more important than eating
               smelly, halibut from hell.

Mom had cooked the meat not
               me.
I was simply following her orders!
               How the Church has changed!
Now they cannot keep their priests
               to follow sacred Holy Orders?

I am a Roman Catholic, and I would have condemned any priest who refuses absolution. It is contrary to the teaching of Jesus Himself. Absolution is important, especially at time of death.

Thank you for being open, Victor. My Dad and I went to the Chancery office, he was angry as all get out. The Chancery Office called the Church in auestion. We went back, I had to repeat my FISH SIn to the Pastor on my knees, and it was a venial sin at most. I really cried a lot that day. My perents even had nuns and priests to our home for great dinners.my grandfather and Father are mentoned in Catholic books, too, i have a painting, beautul, of Christ at 12 years old, it must be 100 yrs old.,,,Pangiexx

Your poem speaks volumes about how the Catholic Church's liberals have grown more and more accommodating. Of course, the more ground they give, the weaker they appear, and the less attractive their churches... And so it goes...

Yes they have made too many changes amd headed down the road of liberalissm- keit! This is not the Summer of Love, where “ if it feels good, do it. But other braches of Christiabity are going WOKE, People do not want a consciece anymore. Just permission to sin all they want.go try that in the Niddke East! You know what I mean. Pangie

You show the hypocrisy in their religion. The church should have never terrorized a young innocent little girl that did what her parents wanted her to do. so sorry Pangie you had to go this form of child abuse. These are some of the reasons I left the Catholic church. I am so glad I did. Now you hear and see the sexual deviancy in the Priest and all the lawsuits from years past of the thousands of Molestation acts involving Priest it makes you sick. They are suppose to be Godly people. Hugs

I am glad that you relate to this nightmare. History I don’t want to go through a diatribe. On the RC Church.. I left the RC at 18, but I did learn that first lesson in Catechism, “why did God make you me.”Many people have no clue what that is. It shows up in the way they live.. by the way, other prelates in all faiths have deviants. They just have programs for them to get better and let them get out of hand..i mean all of them. I don’t know why the current pope is still a Pope? He is an apologist for birth control and Socialism? Arg admire your honest comments. You never blow smoke in my ear.. thank you, Cheers, Pangie. When the world turns away .from God, you can understand what’s happening today in the world.!! Our egos? Out of control … we think we are God and we have answers and no we do not..

LOL. I did not pen, (should have) that the priest yelled at me and slammed the confessional door in my face, i thought…if I die tonight, I will burn in hell! That was so traumatic my friend! I don’t think they have that same law in the church anymore. My dad was very upset with the church.. I finally did get absolution later in the afternoon. I like your creative answers.. Pangie

Things have changed all over the world. I think it n all churches.. now people don’t even believe in God and they won’t go to church. Church attendance is way down.. they only watch it on TV.. mass for shut ins. I didn’t meet the same people you did. Nobody I knew, thought they were God.. I know plenty these days who think they are. I was even told that here. A poet here told me “ he was greater than God and Einstein combined.” Hope your new Labor leader works out! I was washing that last night. Pangie
