A Boy In the Wood
Day has turned to night
Ominous darkness now looms
Shadows fill this wood
Trees creep and follow
Eyes shift about within them
Focused on the five
The five are in camp
Seated around a fire
All are quiet now
Morning has broken just
All seems peaceful for a time
This is not to last
The men sneak around
Hoping to catch them off guard
And spot one alone
A boy is taken then
His cries are silenced by men
Not a soul hears him
A cry is then heard
Then silence creeps into play
All is then made still
Naught but wind remains
Whispering through the forest
Only trees hear it
Night time falls once more
All creatures now cease to stirr
Stillness fills the wood
