A Boy I Once Knew

I've come back I yell to the wind along the empty beach
that once served my young thoughts so well
not much has changed they still don't listen as well as you
I sat here many times full of loneliness with the pains of youth
twisting my mind
even the rolling hills that surround you knew of my plight
each day I spend discovering you
you help me to see a little more of myself and learning
you were the greatest teacher of them all
so today i came back to thank you
for i made it after all
