A Bit of Snow

A bit of snow is just enough
To make the traffic slow
And add some time to get to
Where it is you want to go.

A bit of snow can coat the path
And maybe make you slip,
So walking gingerly prevents
A broken leg or hip.

A bit of snow can form a pile
You need to shovel out,
But it’s to be expected;
That’s what winter’s all about.

A bit of snow, though, dusts the trees
And beautifies the scene.
If you live in a place with snow,
You know just what I mean.

I love snow, Ilene, particularly when I’m in… and it’s out. Looks nice on Christmas cards though and it’s certainly fodder for a poet… as you’ve most ably shown. Okay… I confess, it does look nice, new fallen and ‘untrodden’. But boy… do I detest those slushy footprints ;-)

lol l love it. bit of snow causes almost everything to stop here in UK . Uk should take notes from Canada or Austria as lv seen massive snow sweepers out middle night, and they know what snow falls really mean. good write and well expressed, thank you for sharing. Jx
