A Better Fate

My ghosts are my own
And this sky is for you,
True blue and wide as a dream.
All that we could ever share
Is just a glimpse of happiness
In a maddening crowd of faces.
Am I wrong to say that we belong?
Or is it just my soul starting to speak?
For the very first time, I knew.
Either way,
You are a better fate than violets.
