A barn swallow soars above on a summer afternoon. A bird of a kind Soaring so high; commanding the sky in ways that dazzle the mind Swooping down over water to drink, feeding on winged insects in flight A bird of great independence. At summer's end, it will be out of sight Continually flying in the sky. At summer's end, it will be out of sight. Date written: 06/14/2018

Hello Edward, that’s okay, I don’t know you either and I did realize that it was copyright. I was going to add your name in recognition of your writing. Maybe you know something in a world I know nothing about, but I’m finding it hard to understand the why. We have to fight for ourselves I guess, otherwise we could be taken advantage of, oh the depth of that loss. ?

Hello Edward I create wildlife digital images and I would like to use your poem as a caption to a barn swallow image of mine. How do I properly do that? I currently have my work on Etsy digitalliquid.net but the new site I am designing is where I will have your poem. Let me know if this is acceptable. Thank you Edward

Loved that repeating last line and I have had this bird above my garage but it never returned. I think it did not like us snooping on it when it had its nest!! congrats for your win.

How cool! Perhaps it relocated to a tree---much more private---because that's a rather strange place to nest, lol. Thanks for the support, Andrea!:-) xoxo
