A Young Boy Loved By All

He was born in an avalanche
Protected from the shock -
His mother's name was Running Deer,
They named him Falling Rock

He was to be a future chief
A young boy loved by all
His skills were strong, his features brave,
He'd answer duty's call!

And then one day he disappeared -
Vanished without a trace.
They searched and searched for years and years,
But never saw his face.

They still look to this very day,
Through mountains, dam and lock.
And you'll see signs in your travels
"Please watch for Falling Rock"
