Sometimes in the orange of evening,
a doorway transports me to other realms
filled with unexpected imagination --
worlds of swirling light,
as mystical trees
and gracious strangers become
one city of a family
railing through dusk's perfect moonlight:
Against the burning skyline
every tick of a gesture a happenstance
charges my essence and absorbs
this space where discoveries
allow me a chance to revel at
what is miraculous...the dance
of kaleidoscopic stars, toddlers
wiggling like cherubs , fireflies dressed
like the Orion... and I go with the flow,
translucent as beams of wonder
guide me through a glass panel
of simple marvels I need not comprehend...
because my heart awaits the next
swing of child-like enthrallment.
