5am
As the darkness fades, and the first light of dawn creeps over
the horizon, a new day is born. For many, 5am is just another hour, a time to sleep in, to dream, to escape reality. But for those who understand the power of this hour, 5am is a call to action, a time to rise, to shine, to conquer.
In the heart of Manicaland, where I was born and raised, the land is fertile, the people are resilient, but the challenges are real. Elnino has struck, and our farmers are struggling. Cattle are dying, crops are withering, and hope is dwindling. But in the midst of this despair, there is a glimmer of light.
As a media guru, Agribusiness expert, and Veterinary specialist, I have seen firsthand the devastating impact of Elnino. But I have also seen the strength, the determination, and the resourcefulness of our farmers. And I know that together, we can overcome.
That's why I want to talk about 5am. This is the hour when the world is still, when the noise is minimal, and when the mind is clear. This is the hour when entrepreneurs, business-minded individuals, and go-getters rise to plan, to strategize, and to conquer the day.
At 5am, the buses that will take our farmers to market, to fetch feed, to seek help, are already gone. But it's also the time when Chiwara bus leaves Mabee Business Centre, near the Chingoe border, carrying dreams, aspirations, and determination.
For those who believe, 5am is a time for morning devotion, a time to connect with the divine, to seek guidance, and to find strength. It's a time to reflect, to meditate, and to focus on the day ahead.
And that's exactly what we need to do. We need to focus on the solutions, not the problems. We need to work together, to support each other, and to lift each other up.
That's why I am proud to be part of a team that is making a difference. Tauro Agro Vet, Fiver Animal Health, Vet Grow, Vet Farm, Veterinary Distributors, Agrovet, Sizzling Hub, and Green Fuel Investments are all working together to provide feed supplements, trash, and other feed materials to our marginalized farmers in Chipinge South Area.
So, I urge you, dear farmers, dear entrepreneurs, dear Zimbabweans, to rise with the sun, to seize the day, and to make a difference. Let 5am be your call to action, your time to shine, your moment to conquer.
Together, we can overcome Elnino, we can rebuild our agricultural sector, and we can create a brighter future for ourselves, our children, and our nation.
Rise and shine, Zimbabwean farmer
