5 THE LATE TEENS

the school days are behind me now, they're finished, over, done it's time to find employment, make some money and have some fun. there's nothing like the feeling when you get your first weeks pay but then you start to realize, you're gonna have to pay your way. my mum asked me for board money, to help with my upkeep it will help to show in future, that cost of living is not cheap, but you're earning your own money, so you can spend it on whatever just bear this golden rule in mind, it does not last forever. so, when I finally turned sixteen, I thought I knew so much my parents, they're of a different age, and really out of touch. and living with their house rules, used to make me really mad so my friend and I both left home, and rented our own pad. the freedom felt euphoric, there was no rules I had to follow but now having to pay my own way, the victory felt hollow mothers words came back to haunt me, I realised she was right that my budget's non-existent, and the cash flows way past tight. about that time I realised, that I'd lost the urge to roam and so I rang my mother, and asked if I could come home as I entered through the front door, mum was overcome with tears I never knew how much I'd hurt her, being away for all those years
