5 Am Purple

5 AM – bright neon buzz breaks my silent deep,
push the blue button and coffee appears
to chase ruddy Mars and red tails that hypnotize,
butter my slick way through the city
as greasy grey pillows choke the nose
until I arrive, reach the flashing violet eyes
that signals batteries charged, device ready
my workday begins and another purple sleep

Just love the vivid imagery, Phil. 5:00 a.m. is prime time for me these days, fortunately or unfortunately. Best wishes, Gershon

Purple is one of my favorite colors. I like the way your thoughts linger here. Waking to meet the day, yet- feeling as though sleep still remains. :) I think we have all been through this. ~ Brandy

Thanks Brandy, you're right, we all have purple days where we turn on autopilot and the rest is history. Glad you liked it. Namaste.
