50 Yard Dash

Some days life does seem
Like a marathon
Dragging on and on
And on….
Having to go
Beyond the
Limits of your endurance
At best
Some sort of test
Of what we can take
Some do and some don’t make
It to the tape set somewhere
By someone in
A sloppy foggy future
But now when I look back to rehash
The past 50 years seem more
Like a 50-yard dash
That I have been running to
Set a record
